Guardians Available

Why use a Guardian Home?

Here at Crossfield Doodles Down South, we utilize guardian homes to provide a nurturing atmosphere for our breeding dams and sires.  While guardian homes get the benefit of well-bred, healthy, and in many cases fully-trained doodles, we also maintain a working relationship with our guardian homes.

Female Guardian Homes are expected to:

  • Keep their female away from any intact males when she is “in season.”
  • Notify us when their female comes into season.
  • Provide transportation to/from our Simpsonville location for breeding-usually daily.  (We do not board guardians here during breeding time.)
  • Provide transportation to/from our Vet for any breeding/pregnancy related appointments.
  • Detailed expectations in addition to those above can be found in our Guardian Contract.  You may request to receive a sample contract when you send in your application.

Male Guardian Homes are expected to:

  • Keep their male away from any “in season” females.
  • Provide transportation to/from our Simpsonville location for breeding-usually daily.  (We do not board guardians here during breeding time.)
  • Provide transportation to/from our Vet for any breeding related appointments.
  • Detailed expectations in addition to those above can be found in our Guardian Contract.  You may request to receive a sample contract when you send in your application.

If you would like to apply to be considered for one of our Available Guardians, please click on the link for the downloadable application.  Each application is specific to each Guardian, so please check to make sure you have downloaded the correct application.  Please do not email or call us BEFORE you have filled-out your application and returned it to us.  We will not be responding to phone calls or email questions about our Guardians or our Guardian Program.  As you can imagine, this is a very popular program, and we will only consider applicants who have submitted their application in this way.  You may read more about the Guardian Program here.  Once we receive your application, we will respond by email with a scheduled time we will be calling you.  We have found this to be the best way to handle the heavy demand of applicants we receive.

Crystal, Miniature Australian Labradoodle

Crystal is a Miniature Australian Labradoodle. She is Apricot and has a lush, wooly coat.  Crystal is 4 years old (DOB 10/2014).  She is ready for her Guardian Home in January 2019.  She will breed three more times for us: Early 2019; Late 2019; Spring 2020.  We plan to spay her after her Spring 2020 litter weans.

Like most doodles, Crystal is completely content lying by your side or at your feet. She will give you a Paw to remind you to pet her occasionally. She is very calm, and rarely makes a peep!

Crystal would thrive in a home with a Work-from-home/Stay-at-home parent or Retired Single/Couple.  She spends most of her day cuddled on the couch, in her bed or lounging under the desk.  She is an easy-going girl.  She will get along well with other dogs as well.  While Crystal would do great in a family environment, we feel Crystal will be most comfortable with older children (preteen or above.)  Crystal prefers a slow, quite life, and we want to do our best to provide this for her!

Crystal has wriggled her way into our hearts around here, and while we believe Crystal could be a great family pet, we will carefully consider applicants as potential Guardians for our girl.  If you would like to be considered as a Guardian Home for Crystal, please download Crystal’s Guardian application.  You may mail your application to us at Crossfield Doodles Down South, 198 Rosa Lane, Simpsonville, SC 29681 OR, you may scan and return it to us via email: puppies@crossfielddoodlesdownsouth.com.

Flynn, Miniature Australian Labradoodle

Flynn is a petite little guy with a blockbuster personality.  We just LOVE our little man!  We’ve kept him a little extra long around here just because we are not sure if we can part with the little fella!  His evening snuggles each night…well, you’d understand if you met him.  Flynn loves to be in your lap.  In fact, he leaps across the living room when anyone chooses to sit on the couch, just so he can be the first in your lap, and because he’s so little–you usually just leave him there and begin to give him the attention he craves!

Well, that’s his temperament.  Now for his looks: as you can see, Flynn has a super rich caramel coat with ringlet curls.  He has a pretty white blaze on his chest.  His confirmation is perfect and he wears his boxy size well.  You can bet this little guy struts his stuff!  Flynn is nearly one year old (DOB 2.2018) and weighs 21 pounds.

We know exactly what we are looking for in Flynn’s Guardian Home.  We believe Flynn will fit well wherever he goes, but because we expect to use him regularly in our breeding program, we want him to be very close-by.  In fact, we want him to be within a 5 to 10 mile radius of our Simpsonville location.  We also require that one adult family member be either a Work-from-home/Stay-at-home parent.  Flynn would be a perfect fit with a family with children, a Single, Young Couple or even retired adults.  He is fully house broken.  Actually, he was one of the easiest puppies we have had the privilege to train–we do not even recall an accident even when he was a lad!

Like Ali, we’d like to see Flynn enrolled in further training in order to receive his Canine Good Citizen.  Flynn has everything he needs to excel at being your perfect family pet, and that’s why he’s enrolled in producing future offspring for Crossfield Doodles Down South.

If you would like to be considered as a Guardian Home for Flynn, please download Flynn’s Guardian application. You may mail your application to us at Crossfield Doodles Down South, 198 Rosa Lane, Simpsonville, SC 29681 OR, you may scan and return it to us via email: puppies@crossfielddoodlesdownsouth.com.

Occasionally, we have puppies we have kept back for consideration for our breeding program. We vet potential breeders through genetic testing and temperament observations.  Currently, we are offering a handful of our Adult Breeders who have or are on their way to becoming an integral part of our breeding program.  These adults have received crate training, and are ready to transition to Guardian Homes in 2019! Please read more below to find out about each of these unique breeders.

Ali, Medium Labradoodle

Ali is a Medium Labradoodle.  She has a fluffy brown and white parti coat.  Ali has passed all of her genetic testing and will begin breeding for Crossfield Doodles Down South in the Fall of 2019.

Ali is nearly 1 year old and has learned perfect puppy skills here on the farm!  She is great in her crate both during the day as well as at night.  She has a perfect temperament and is a fun-loving, affectionate doodle, just like the fine pedigree before her: Chloe + Winston.  We encourage all of our Guardian Homes to pursue Training, and we will happily fully reimburse for Training.  Ali would be an excellent candidate to continue training to become a Canine Good Citizen!

We are looking for a Guardian Home that is committed to being a part of our Down South family of Guardians.  Ali is going to make a wonderful family pet.  She will thrive in any environment: Family with children, Married, Single, Retired.  We would love to see her with another dog, as she has grown-up with Aunts and Uncles around her.  Ali could also enjoy an active lifestyle like hiking on weekends or walks through the park.  But don’t get us wrong, Ali is a big smudge, too.  She’s a Doodle, and at the end of the day, no matter her size, she’ll want to be as close to your body as she is to your heart!

If you would like to be considered as a Guardian Home for Ali, please download Ali’s Guardian application.  You may mail your application to us at Crossfield Doodles Down South, 198 Rosa Lane, Simpsonville, SC 29681 OR, you may scan and return it to us via email: puppies@crossfielddoodlesdownsouth.com.
